From Wheat and Corn Field with Deer, to breeched levee,to flooded fields, to white peeks in less than 4 hours
This is some of the picture of the farm, some right before the water comes rushing thru after 5 days and nights of reinforcing the levee. Herds of deer are running thru this morning just stopping in the roads to watch all of us.
Thanks so much for all the help to Harold Y, David Bross, Kyle W. Nicholas, Ted and Phil and Herb. There are others I will fill in later. We are going to go take more pictures.
Who is DAN FRIZ?
As I sit here, Jeanne Bethmann is with me and is afraid that all of you don't know that Dan Friz is Cousin Barb Merritt's Husband. He is the Bassman, fisher. Please all try and make the Fundraiser that is coming this weekend.

Dan Friz Fundraiser BBQ is approaching -
The Flooding is making a Mark
Friends and Family, as you may know the rain poured and the rivers and creeks are flooded. We are fighting a battle that it seems we are winning -but there is a cost involved. The flood waters in St. Peters are about what the flood levels were back in 1973. That is dangerously high for local farms and many families. We are fortunate enough to have a Corp. of Engineers levee that was built after the Flood of 1993(when we had over 5 feet of water on the first floor of our home).
Herb and Phil, along with help from Kyle W, Harold Y, Nicholas, Ted and David Bross, have been raising the lower farm levee to attempt to keep the water off of the lower fields. Many of our fiends have not been as fortunate. We have been winning the water fight because of hard work, no sleep and the fact that other levees have been topped and then broken.
Jeanne and John Bethmann and John's brother Jim and Elaine have built a ring levee around their homes. It appears that they will keep the water out or their homes - but the crops this year are mostly lost.
This will truly be a very difficult year for farmers across many states. Fuel prices weren't bad enough!

The days are full of lots and lots
I am attempting to make a space to communicate better with family and friends and share life. Nicholas suggested that I try a "blog" instead of the other ideas that I was checking out. Let's give this a go to check out.
